We’re thrilled that The Salt Path - the long-awaited film adaptation of Raynor Winn’s bestselling memoir - hits UK cinemas on 30th May. With Cornwall taking centre stage, we can’t wait to see our beloved coastline shine on the big screen.
Starring Gillian Anderson and Jason Isaacs, The Salt Path follows Raynor and her husband Moth as they hike the 630-mile South West Coast Path, facing loss, illness, and uncertainty with resilience and hope. It’s a deeply moving story - and a beautiful reminder of how healing nature (and especially Cornwall) can be.
As proud locals and lovers of the Cornish coast, we’re especially excited to see iconic filming locations across Padstow, Holywell Bay, Bedruthan Steps, and the Rame Peninsula. These breath-taking backdrops are part of our heritage at Cornish Sea Salt - and we know they’ll soon be on everyone’s must-visit list!
So, planning your own Salt Path-inspired adventure? Don’t forget the most important part - the food! Here are a few of our favourite coastal stops:
-
Padstow: Enjoy wood-fired pizza at Caffé Rojano, brunch at Ben’s Crib Box Café, or spoil yourself at The Seafood Restaurant by Rick Stein.
-
Bedruthan Steps: Refuel with a Cornish cream tea or pastry at the Bakery at Bedruthan Hotel.
-
Holywell Bay: Soak up the sun at this golden beach (you might even recognise it from Poldark or House of the Dragon!). Why not head to the Holywell Beach Bar for some good food and a crisp cold drink whilst you're enjoying the views?
-
Rame Peninsula: Take a short hike to Rame Head Chapel for stunning sea views - and don’t forget a picnic with a pinch of Cornish Sea Salt.
Whether you’re walking the South West Coast Path or watching The Salt Path at your local cinema, we hope you fall in love with Cornwall all over again - just like we do, every single day.
